The Pakistani team performed excellently at the World Martial Arts Championship in Azerbaijan. The six-member team got seven medals including three gold medals. Winners of gold medals included father-son duo.
The World Martial Arts Championship was held in Baku, Azerbaijan, where players from fifteen countries, including Pakistan and India participated.
The Pakistani team comprising six players won three gold medals, two silver and two bronze medals. Gold medalists included Abdulmanan Achakzai, Azizullah Khan and Nasibullah.
Azizullah and Naseebullah Rasheed are father and son and all three gold medal winners hail from the city of Quetta.
Azizullah Khan defeated the Turkish player and his son Naseemullah in the final match, while Abdulmanan Achakzai defeated the Azerbaijan player in his final match.
Abdulmanan Achakzai of Quetta also received a silver medals in another category.
In addition to these, Muhammad Nazeer of DG Khan also won a silver medal. Those who received the bronze medal include Abdullah Khan Khilji from Karachi and Kamran Prakani of Quetta.
